Nanoparticles (NPs) with diameters between 1-100 nm are the right size to interact with biomolecules and cells, making them attractive entities for applications in medical diagnosis and diseases treatment (cancer and Alzheimer’s). However, biological applications of NPs require them to be stable, biologically inert and impurities free. Here we describe the synthesis of PEG-stabilised Au NPs and their interaction with cells for delivering siRNA.
