The paper deals with an understudied fourteenth-century Irish pilgrimage account that is the only pilgrimage account to survive from late medieval Ireland. It demonstrates how Franciscan ideologies circulated in late medieval Ireland and how the Irish author was well aware of intellectual and political developments in the Franciscan Order at the time.
