This report is a document delivered in the context of WP2, Task 2.2: "Best Practices Inventory" of the EC-FP7 project named REEB (European strategic research Roadmap to
ICT enabled Energy-Efficiency in Buildings and construction). REEB is part of the thematic
research area ICT-2007.6.3 - ICT for environmental management and energy efficiency.
The European Commission identified ICT as a major enabler to improve energy efficiency
across the economy, through enabling new business models and improved monitoring and finer control of all sorts of processes and activities.
Through a collection of representative examples (case studies), gathered thanks to the
participation of all REEB partners and of SIG (Special Interest Group) and IRC (International REEB Community) members, a set of generic Best Practices regarding the use of ICT applied to Energy-Efficiency in buildings has been identified.
The selected 12 Best Practices are described in terms of concept, energy efficiency impact,
stakeholders, level of development and dissemination, and future trends.
