Feminist Methodologies, Power, Older Women, Irish Women, Oral History
In this article, the authors reflect on the process of carrying out an oral history project with older Irish women (in which two of them were interviewers), which set out to incorporate 'feminist research practice' . In particular, they describe the way in which they sought to address those elements, which related to issues of power and empowerment. Drawing on qualitative data, gathered from 'de-briefing meetings' with praticipants in the project, the authors discuss the complexities, the excitement and sometimes the perils, of engaging in feminist research practice with older women.
