Optimal transport of two ions under slow spring-constant drifts

We investigate the eect of slow spring-constant drifts of the trap on the shuttling of two-ion chains. We design transport protocols to suppress or mitigate the excitation energy by combing invariant-based inverse engineering and perturbation theory within a harmonic, normal-mode approximation.
