Abstract

This study investigated the acoustic characteristics of prosody for conveying the emotion of ‘like’ versus ‘dislike’ in children with spina bifida. On average, these children were less accurate than their gender- and age-matched typical peers in using prosody to distinguish ‘like’ and ‘dislike’. Differences in acoustic characteristics that contribute to the perception of correct and incorrect responses will be reported.
