Curriculum reform is a potential catalyst for institutional change. This paper describes a Design Sprint initiative developed by a team in University College Cork which considers sustainability in education from two perspectives. The first is how to support staff to integrate sustainability and civic engagement in the curriculum, aligned with an institutional change initiative. The second is how to model active and participatory methods in a curriculum design process thereby emulating how to empower learners to respond to sustainability challenges. Participants will gain access to related toolkits and be invited to critique this process and its potential application in their context.
