Voegelin Pizzorno, political representation, modern Gnosticism, trickster
The aim of this paper is to explore the contemporary situation around the question of political representation, representative democracy or representative government, identified in the conference call as a ‘crisis of representation, as is currently being diagnosed in western democracies’, through the prism of the works and ideas of Eric Voegelin. This task, of course, requires way more than a single paper, presuming a vast collaborative task, so within its limits the paper can do hardly more than scratch the surface.
