Dr Claire Nolan is an archaeologist whose work focuses on the areas of public archaeology, cultural heritage and landscape studies.
She has a special interest in the relationship between people, places and the past and her work explores prehistoric archaeology and its relevance to modern society. But Dr Claire is probably also unique in that she’s a psychotherapist who has worked in community mental health and combines her two disciplines to explore the social value of our historic environments and how heritage assets can influence our lives.
Dr Claire discusses her PhD work where her research looked at the therapeutic value of the prehistoric landscapes of Avebury, Stonehenge and the Vale of Pewsey, UK in the present day.
Currently she works as a public archaeology and cultural heritage studies researcher and as a commercial archeologist in Southern Ontario, Canada.
