Having considered the positive effects of engaging with the historic
environment, we now turn to the prehistoric landscapes of Avebury and
Marden Henge in Wiltshire, about 15 miles from Stonehenge. Claire Nolan
examines the advantages of living near heritage sites, and issues a rallying
cry for archaeology’s less tangible benefits.
