How do you end a project? Usually in our conferences
we talk about imagining projects, starting
them, getting funding, gaining respect, managing them
and their research outcomes – but how often do we think
about their ends, how we close them down and leave our
digits behind for others. In this paper we propose to discuss
the ends of a particular digital project, the SSHRC
funded Globalization and Autonomy online Compendium.
In the paper we will do the following:
1. Provide background to the project.
2. Demonstrate the major digital outcome of the project,
the Globalization Compendium.
3. Discuss the problem of ending and how the project
has been deposited.
4. And conclude by talking about the challenges of
closing projects gracefully.
